Joyce Smith

the artist

When she isn't capturing Philadelphia's most dashing pets, Joyce can be found photographing her other lovely clients who are sans fur; her children's portraiture portfolio may be found at
A native Floridian turned New Yorker (isn't that usually the other way around?), Joyce grew up with a menagerie of dogs and cats at any given time and as a teen shot innumerable rolls of film starring Mr. Smith the Irish setter, Sarah the golden, Buffy the tabby, and Burt "Bandit" Reynolds, a truculent cocker spaniel rescue turned big softy.
She now lives on the beautiful Main Line with her husband, daughter, nonplussed cat Hannah, and Buttercup, a spirited Pembroke Welsh Corgi who answers with equal gusto to Butters, Butterific, or the scent of bacon.
